Cactus Shadow’s Shadowbox Players to premiere Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice”


CAVE CREEK – Cactus Shadows High School’s Theatre Department’s Shadowbox Players, will be premiering their fall performances of the classic English romance, Pride and Prejudice, this Thursday evening, Oct. 23, 2008. The Shadowbox Players have chosen to present Jon Jory’s adaptation of the classic tale of the prideful Mr. Darcy, the prejudiced Elizabeth Bennet, and the love that slowly blooms between the two.

The show will run for three consecutive nights at the Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center, located near the intersection of Carefree Highway and 60th Street, beginning at 7:30 p.m. (doors open thirty minutes beforehand). Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and children.

Theater goers are invited to join the cast for a special High Tea ceremony at 12:30 p.m. before the matinee on Oct. 25. Reservations for High Tea are required, available by calling 480-575-2464. High Tea tickets, which include the cost of the show, are $20. Also on Saturday, there will be an additional 2 p.m. matinee featuring the understudy cast.
